Curious about Linux since 1996 (Caldera Linux…), soon started playing and struggling with first Distros (Slackware, Mandrake…). As soon as he got some experience on them, he started installing first servers. In 2006 he met other people in his town and with them founded a local GNU/Linux User Group. With this group started his advocacy activity, first at yearly Linux Day events, bringing them to become the 3 days “Open Terni Festival” event in 2010. Being an early adopter from the StarOffice days, he also joined Progetto Linguistico Italiano OpenOffice during the 2009 Conference in Orvieto, and has been part of OpenOffice.org community until LibreOffice was born. Training and support are his most common activities and in fact he’s been working on LibreUmbria and LibreDifesa projects as a teacher. He is also a founder of LibreItalia, where he’s currently Deputy Director, and member of The Document Foundation, where has the role if Chairman of the Membership Committee. His contributions to Open Source world are mostly on LibreOffice project and consist in speaking at conferences and in videos (also as narrator), some translations, and user support on the Italian and international mailing lists. Certified LibreOffice Trainer and Migration Expert from February 2015.
